In their latest adventure, in SOUTHERN CHARM, Emme and Jackie are enjoying, well Emme is enjoying a stroll along the Virginia Beach boardwalk when they attend the Neptune Festival and a sand art exhibit. Jackie tags along reluctantly, then a series of events, sends Emme sprawling into a sand sculpture. But it's no ordinary sand sculpture; it's hiding a dead body with lots of secrets.
Complicating their lives are cryptic GPS coordinates that lead them to their parent's mysterious safe house, where they encounter protective drones. I'll let you find out what happens next.
Mayson & Dickson, when they crossed the line, it was murder.

 Jackie Dickson, Character Guest Post

Hello, I'm Jackie Dickson from Jocie McKade's Southern Charm. This is the third book I've been a character in, and I must say, I've had some adventures.

Along with my newly discovered twin sister Emme Mayson, we make up the PI team of Mayson-Dickson. Please, don't blame me for that horrid name. It seems my father, whom I never met came up with the name. Apparently, the man had a rather redneck sense of humor.

Considering that I am a true Yankee woman from Boston, and my sister is a, well, she is from Alabama, I'll leave it right there, the name does fit.

We started out in SOUTHERN CHARM drinking a margarita, something we do more frequently than I'd ever imagined. Then Emme convinces me to walk along the Virginia Beach boardwalk where we now live. While Emme loves festivals, hot weather, loud country music and disgusting fast food, I do not.

I love fine wine, elegantly served dinner in award-winning restaurants, days spent lingering in art museums and cool weather. Today, whether because of her constant badgering or my imbibing of margaritas, I join her in the walk, not realizing the annual Neptune Festival was in full swing.

After dodging several banjo picking bands, enduring hot sand, and managing to decline a fried dill pickle, Emme invites me to an art festival. Again, I should have known better. While my expectations were of an air-conditioned venue with marble floors and works from the masters of the art world, my reality was a tent on the beach with sand sculptures.

Once I ventured into the tent, however, I was stunned at the artistic beauty of the sand creations. Just as I was beginning to enjoy myself, Emme stumbles and falls into one of the sculptures. If that wasn't bad enough, she lands on a dead body that had been stuffed inside of it.

Finding the body triggers a chain of events that will have us face-to-face with Russian mobsters, the leader of the Eights Gang, makes our government handlers insane. Emme and I don't always see eye-to-eye, but we certainly make a very good investigations team.

Here's little snipped of Southern Charm:

Mayson & Dickson are back, and they've uncovered a dead body. Well, as usual, the dead body found them.

The annual Neptune Festival is in full swing in Virginia Beach, and so is the Sand Art Contest. This year, the beautiful art is covering up a very dead body. Leave it to Emme and Jackie to uncover it. Finding the killer, however, will lead them to places they never imagined, and to a completely unexpected killer.

And, their mysterious past is catching up to them, complicating their lives even more.

Mayson-Dickson - Northern logic, Southern charm, and murder!
