Madison
Reynolds can’t wait for Christmas this year. Rebuilding her life as
a single mom hasn’t been easy, but after a challenging twelve
months, she’s excited about the holidays. She and her twins have
settled quite nicely here in The Sisters, renovations on the house
are complete, her business is slowly growing, and, best of all, Chief
of Police Brash deCordova is in her life. Visions of the perfect
Christmas dance in her head.
The
tinsel begins to tangle when someone targets the community for a
series of ‘Christmas Crimes.’ Homes are broken into and wrapped
gifts are stolen from beneath trees. Even vehicles loaded with
presents aren’t safe, particularly on a lone stretch of highway.
Things like this just don’t happen in Naomi and Juliet. Torn
between solving the rash of burglaries and shutting down the gambling
ring that’s active in the area again, Brash does the only thing he
can: he hires In a Pinch to help with the investigation.
Finding
the common link between cases is like finding the bad bulb on a
string of lights. Every lead is a short circuit. The frustration
mounts when Madison and the Angel Tree she’s involved with fall
victim to the crimes. Only the worst kind of Grinch steals from needy
children!
Brash
has plans of his own for the perfect Christmas. With the help of a
new jewelry store, he thinks he’s found just the right gift for
Madison, until the Grinch strikes again. This wasn’t the surprise
he had in mind.
Ready or not, Christmas is on its way, and
time is running out to create the holiday of their dreams. As the
house fills with unexpected guests, Madison and the twins honor
favorite traditions from the past while creating a few new ones of
their own.
Who
has time for being kidnapped by men in Santa suits and bad
beards?
This is one Christmas that no one in The Sisters
will ever forget!
It has been several hectic months for Madison and her children. They are adjusting to moving back to the small town where Maddy was raised. New friends must be made and the very large house they now live in was decorated by a television home design show, which meant no privacy for this family. It is almost Christmas, time of cheer and good will. Except that old rivalries and resentments rear their ugly head. Someone would rather play Scrooge than Santa and has been stealing gifts and decorations.
If you have read previous books in this series you'll know that small towns may speedily pass along all the gossip about everyone else's business but secrets are still abundant. If you missed the previous books, don't worry. This reads well (and excitingly) as a stand alone. You will fall in love with the twin towns and the warm people who live in them. Becki Willis even writes villains you love to hate.

Chicken
Scratch
The
Sisters, Texas Series Book 1
The Sisters are a set of communities connected by family and divided by competition. Each town, Juliet and Naomi, has her own personality reflecting that of the original sister who designed it. This first book sets the stage and introduces people you'll find fascinating.
When The Stars Fall
The
Sisters, Texas Series Book 2
Chock full of love of all kinds and crushes, the mystery goes from amateur sleuth cozy to some terrifying aspects worthy of a Stephen King horror novel. Two small towns with all the "wrong side of the tracks" competition on top of the typical gossip and back-biting. The characters are wonderful, each scene written to descriptive perfection.
Stipulations and
Complications
The
Sisters, Texas Series Book 3
This series gets better and more intense with each book! I enjoyed watching Maddy grow as a character in each successive novel. A house with hidden niches and passages always adds interest to a storyline.
Home
Again: Starting Over
The
Sisters, Texas Series Book 4
Strange deaths, unusual fires, corrupt business people and an extreme home reveal all add to the intriguing activities happening around The Sisters. The series is heating up as Madison discovers a file and tries to understand the relevance of the contents. The Sisters continues to slowly reveal their secrets.
Romance comes along for the ride as cold cases are solved and the future is becoming possible.
Genny's
Ballad
The
Sisters, Texas Series Book 5
Becki Willis writes wonderful characters and reveals the intriguing backstory with each additional novel. Genny's story is one we have all been anxiously awaiting. In true B.W. style, nothing good happens without a good read of danger and suspense first.
