The Rest of My Life review

Genre: Contemporary Romance : Release Date: 1st July 2015
Publisher:  Choc Lit @ChocLituk

“You can’t run away from commitment forever … “

Adam Hamilton-Shaw has more reason than most to avoid commitment. Living on a houseboat in
the Severn Valley, his dream is to sail into the sunset – preferably with a woman waiting in every
port. But lately, his life looks more like a road to destruction than an idyllic boat ride…

Would-be screenplay writer Sienna Meadows realises that everything about Adam spells trouble –
but she can’t ignore the feeling that there is more to him than just his bad reputation.
Nor can she ignore the intense physical attraction that exists between them.

And it just so happens that Adam sees Sienna as the kind of woman he could commit to.
But can hechange his damaging behaviour – or is the road to destruction a one-way street?

Handmade red rose in a bottle (scene from book) with scrolled tied message:
The Rest of My Life.  I am so grateful and EXCITED to let you know I won this bottle and scroll!

Talk about a tough love story! This one has more obstacles than most.
Something has happened to Adam and he feels his heart will never be whole again.
He turned his back on his family and their money, preferring to live a solitary, noncommittal life on his boat. He won't commit to a job or a schedule and prefers "relationships" to be in the moment and with women who are already involved (mainly married) to someone else.
Not to give anything away but there seems to be a ghost attached to Adam.

Sienna wants to be a romance novelist but she has had no romantic experiences to draw upon for the steamy scenes. How can one research those important details? When she moves into a cottage at the marina with her best girlfriend, they discover an expert lives nearby.

Is Adam as unfeeling and depraved as he has the entire town convinced?
Is Sienna capable of using him to liven up her novel without personal consequences?
Very well written to only give the reader bits and pieces of background and keep the suspense intact.
A strong story of friendship and the enduring power of love and guilt.
As one obstacle is overcome, three more rise up.
Even if you can believe in happy endings everyone must give their all to make one happen.
