I will come right out and be honest that I admire all of these authors. I have appreciated other works by most of them and follow a few of their series. Please be sure to check out their author pages and longer works.
That said, due to the varying nature of the accumulated works, different lengths and stylings, some stories were enjoyed more than others. I won't say any was a poor use of my reading time. And of course the additional BONUS file of crafts and recipes is always appreciated.
I discovered several themes among the collection, including past history affecting present troubles, and family relationships being complicated. Especially when there is a law officer member in the family. sleuthing seems to become a family obsession. For the low price, you will not find a better collection. For a more complete review of the individual stories, please visit my review on Goodreads.
Randy Rawls was the new-to-me author in this collection. His tale of payback is very well written, giving us a different angle. There were a few other contributions that stood out from the others, with a different energy about them.
Lesley Diehl increases the pace about 100 mph with Bobbing for Murder. No one could ever prepare for these ladies.
Spirit in the Rock takes us in an unexpected direction in an exotic locale. It weaves together paranormal elements with mystical myths and experiences.
The final short story is even more chilling when you learn it was inspired by a real life event.
