The Russian & Aunt Sophia (A Mary Catherine Mahoney Mystery Novella) by Rita Moreau

The Russian & Aunt Sophia (A Mary Catherine Mahoney Mystery Novella) by Rita Moreau

About the Book

Cozy Mystery Novella #1
Self Published (January 16, 2018)
Print Length: 77 pages

When mobsters frame her aunt, one psychic dives headfirst into a criminal conspiracy.
Mary Catherine, MC for short, inherited her family’s psychic abilities and a knack for trouble. When her fortune-telling aunt is accused of murdering a Russian mobster and refuses to defend herself by revealing what she saw in a card reading, it’s up to MC to divine the truth.
But if MC isn’t careful, she could end up sharing a jail cell with her aunt … or swimming with the fishes.
The Russian and Aunt Sophia is a madcap cozy mystery novella that could only take place in Florida. If you like surreal plots, well-rounded characters, and quirky comedy, then you’ll love Rita Moreau’s psychic whodunit.
Semifinalist in the 2017 ScreenCraft Story Contest

You need to give Aunt Sophia credit. She will not reveal information received through a card reading just as a priest would not tell what is offered up in confession. Even when she takes up sanctuary to avoid being arrested and then goes along with the police, she has control over the situation.
The Sisters and niece MC must dress for the occasion to find evidence of who the true perpetrator is of this dastardly crime.
Psychic visions and deception balance out family loyalty in this short tale of murder and the mob.
