Sweet Love at Bayside

Two BRAND NEW Addison Cole sweet romance releases!

Sweet Love at Bayside (Sweet with Heat: Bayside Summers Book 1) by [Cole, Addison]
NEW RELEASE........

Fall in love at Bayside, where sandy beaches, good friends, and true love come together in the sweet small towns of Cape Cod. Bayside Summers is a series of standalone romance novels featuring fiercely loyal heroes and sassy, empowered women. They're fun, flirty, flawed, and easy to relate to.

In Sweet Love at Bayside…
As the co-owner of Bayside Resorts, Rick Savage has a fabulous job working with his best friends and brother, and a thriving business in Washington, DC, which he'll be returning to at the end of the summer. Spending time with his family is great, but being back on Cape Cod has unearthed painful memories. When sweet, smart, and overly cautious Desiree Cleary moves in next door, Rick is drawn to the sexy preschool teacher, and she just might prove to be the perfect distraction.

Running an art gallery was not in preschool teacher Desiree Cleary's plans, but after being tricked into coming to her impetuous, unreliable mother's aid, she's stuck spending the summer with the rebellious half sister she barely knows and a misbehaving dog. If that's not frustrating enough, she can't escape the sparks igniting with her strikingly handsome and pushy neighbor, Rick, who makes all her warning bells go off.

Passion ignites as Desiree and Rick spend long summer nights sharing heartfelt confessions and steamy kisses. For the first time in years Rick is enjoying life again instead of hiding behind mounds of work miles away from his family. Desiree has touched him in a way that makes him want to slow down. Only slowing down means dealing with his demons, and he isn't sure who he'll be when he comes out the other side.

Sweet, yet edgy, I enjoyed getting to know more fantastic characters. A great summer read.

While still sweet and romantic, this book did turn up the heat a notch!
I think this is the edgiest so far of Addison Cole's Sweet with Heat series.
How can it be helped? Rick Savage is smoking hot - in looks and personality.
He is romantic and loyal and he has a single - mindedness quality that I have to admire.
Having suffered a tragedy at a young age, he has dedicated his life to doing and being his best.

Desiree Cleary has not had a typical sweet family growing up. Her mother is a free spirit.
While she loves her daughters, she took one, Violet, off with her to traipse around the world, leaving Desiree behind with her father. The sisters only got together for short periods over the years and seem to be nothing alike now that they are grown.
One thing they have in common is that, when called, they come to the aid of their mother.
Although when they discover the truth, they wonder if that was the right decision.
Being together gives them an opportunity to get to know each other.

It gives us an opportunity to get to know more about the extended families of the Bayside community we've grown to cherish from Addison Cole and Melissa Foster. Spending time at the beach is always more fun with this group. A fence climbing, pool hopping dog adds his own special charms.

For Desiree, a preschool teacher, as innocent as her students, this will be a summer of discovery and learning to embrace her own potential. Everyone grows during this book.

In Sweet Passions at Bayside…
When Emery Andrews's best friend, Desiree, moves away, falls in love, and opens an inn all in one summer, she feels her absence like a missing limb. Until she visits over the holidays and meets sinfully hot Dean Masters, who's as easy on the eyes as he is to talk to. After returning home, what starts as a flurry of late-night flirtations quickly turns into a deep connection and unexpected friendship. Now, months later, Desiree offers Emery a job teaching yoga at the inn. Adventurous Emery jumps at the chance and heads for Wellfleet, Massachusetts, to reunite with her BFF and her new close friend, Dean.

After months of sharing their lives, and their secrets, over video chats and phone calls, Dean's ready to move things to the next level. The fact that Emery seems oblivious to the sparks between them and has recently put her foot down about dating friends just means he'll have to bide his time.

When Emery finds a man in her kitchen the first morning she's there, Dean doesn't hesitate to move her into his guest room. Maybe now Emery will see what's right before her eyes-although that guy she's got a date with might be a problem.

And the beach keeps getting hotter! With all the wonderful characters we've come to know and expect from Addison Cole. This is a love story, not only about following ones heart and being open to the right person at the proper time in life, but also about discovering the true meaning of home.
Emery Andrews is as REAL as any person you have ever met. She speaks her mind and follows her passions, somewhat impulsively. She believes in her calling as a Yoga instructor. She is also the most devoted and loyal friend one could ask for.
Dean knew the moment he met her that his Emery was special. One of a kind. He also knows she is gun shy in the romance department. He has his work cut out for him to prove he is her perfect match.
Fortunately Dean is not afraid of exhausting, difficult work. This story includes more about his own family and how their relationships need attention and work.
With an energetic pace and a contagious feeling of romantic love and passion, this was another great visit to Wellfleet.

Sipped - Release Blitz by Kate Collier

Mystery (Cozy/Traditional)
Date Published:  June 2018

 photo add-to-goodreads-button_zpsc7b3c634.png

After a rough semester, Professor Lyssa Pennington just wants to post her grades and join her husband, Kyle, in Cornwall for Christmas. First, though, she’s expected to host an elegant dinner for Emile Duval, the soon-to-be Chair of Languages at Tompkins College.

Too bad no one told Lyssa murder is on the menu. And, by the way, Emile Duval is an imposter.

Who is he really? And who wanted him dead? Without those answers, the Penningtons can kiss Christmas in Cornwall goodbye.

Trooper Moran tapped his pen. “Let’s talk about the person you saw leaving the kitchen, the one who delivered the wine. Do you remember her coat?”

“I was fixated on her gloves.”

“Cloth coat? Down?”

“It was the kind of dark winter parka anyone would wear on a cold night, but that doesn’t tally with the classy gloves.”

“Did you see the woman’s footwear?”

“No, just the gloved hand.”

He chuckled. “Tell me about the glove.”

Lyssa’s cheeks were hot. “I was memorizing every detail to tell Kyle, because I really really wanted a pair just like them for Christmas.”

He shook his head.

“So I’m not a trained detective,” she joked. “I noticed some other detail, but I can’t grab hold of it right now.”

“Her head popping back for a look?”

Lyssa shook her head. “This woman didn’t second-guess anything. She’d worked out every detail.”

Airships, Crypts & Chocolate Chips: A Cozy Witch Mystery (Spells & Caramels) by Erin Johnson

About the Book

Cozy Mystery 6th in Series
Self Published
Publication Date: June 23, 2018

A bewitched prison. A brother with a deadly request. Can a magical baker launch a jailbreak and still keep her prince in the process?
Imogen’s magical bakery is thriving and she loves the company of the Water Kingdom’s dashing prince. But she’s not so enamored with the time she’s forced to spend with his awful Royal Family. She also can't help but worry that the increased media scrutiny could reveal her secret contact with the Royal Family’s sworn enemy: her own brother.
When her sibling shows up and demands Imogen spring his cronies out of jail, she flat out refuses. But when he threatens to hurt the ones she loves the most, she balances her allegiance to the prince with her plan for a covert prison break. Can Imogen keep up family appearances and avoid betraying the kingdom or will her pie-in-the-sky scheme become a recipe for disaster?
Airships, Crypts & Chocolate Chips is the sixth standalone book in a clever paranormal cozy mystery series. If you like crafty witches, charming romances, and fabulous French settings, then you'll love Erin Johnson’s enchanting adventure.

This magical fantasy series is all about family and power and creativity.
The characters are unlike anyone you have met before. Each has their own endearing quality while hiding secrets. There is a shadow to every one.
Imogen's relationship with Hank is moving forward, but she is still getting used to her unusual position between the classes. She is also still getting a handle on her swallow magic.
Hank, while better versed in his magic, is still in the dark about his powers, and has some insecurity issues. Iggy, does not struggle with ANY insecurity ideas.
Imogen's brother, Horace, is not gone from the picture, even though everyone feels he is the worst monster they've come across. Certain truths will be revealed before the book ends.

I felt the beginning was a bit slower than I cared for, but the exciting finish more than makes up for it. The bakers, as a group, face an impossible task, and bring social injustices and government conspiracies to light. All of which leads to one huge cliffhanger ending!

Summer Bride Release Review Blog Tour

Title: Summer Bride
Author: Shanna Hatfield
Genre: Sweet Romance, RomCom
Publication Date: July 12th, 2018
Hosted by: Lady Amber’s PR
Two scheming matchmakers are at it again…
Sage Presley loves her job as the receptionist at Golden Skies Retirement Village in Holiday, Oregon. She enjoys the residents and their wisdom, even if some of them are more than a little quirky. Determined to ignore the matchmaking efforts of two women at the retirement home, Sage’s sole focus is on raising her brother, Shane. In spite of her best efforts, she can’t help but notice the hunky electrician who continually comes to her rescue.   Grateful for the opportunity to open his own electrical business, Justin James moves to Holiday full of plans and dreams. He’s quickly drawn in by the close-knit community, but finds the lack of suitable single women disturbing. Despite himself, his attention is captured by the receptionist at the retirement home where he’s working on a big job. Yet, he can’t begin to understand why two matchmaking octogenarians are intent on forcing him together with the woman he’s convinced is married.
A sweet romance sprinkled with humor, hope, and the meaning of real love, Summer Bride will warm the hearts of readers while bringing them a smile.

This beautiful book is about romance and loyalty and values.
It is a clean read, a gentle story, and has the most wonderful characters.
A perfect read for any time of year.

USA Today Bestselling Author Shanna Hatfield writes character-driven romances with relatable heroes and heroines. Her historical westerns have been described as “reminiscent of the era captured by Bonanza and The Virginian” while her contemporary works have been called “laugh-out-loud funny, and a little heart-pumping sexy without being explicit in any way.”
Convinced everyone deserves a happy ending, this hopeless romantic is out to make it happen one story at a time. When she isn’t writing or indulging in chocolate (dark and decadent, please), Shanna hangs out with her husband, lovingly known as Captain Cavedweller.
Shanna is a member of Western Writers of America, Women Writing the West, Romance Writers of America, Sweet Romance Reads, Cowboy Kisses, and Pioneer Hearts.

Caught woolgathering, she felt heat stinging her cheeks in embarrassment. “I’m sorry. I wasn’t paying attention. What was the question?”
Justin grinned. “I just asked if you have plans for Easter.”
“Nothing exciting. Shane and I will go to church, of course, and then I thought we might go for a drive and take along a picnic.” Sage shrugged. “He’s declared himself too big for coloring eggs or doing any of the fun things we used to, although I’m not sure he’s believed in the Easter Bunny since he came to live with me.”
Justin’s grin faded and he gave her a curious look before he glanced down the table at Shane. His gaze shifted back to her. “Isn’t Shane your son?”
Sage choked on the sip of lemonade she’d just swallowed. Matilda whacked her on the back as she coughed into a napkin. When she ceased coughing and could speak again, she shook her head. “Shane is my brother.”
Eyes wide in shock, Justin gaped at her. “Your brother? So you aren’t… you don’t have… Are you married?”
Had Sage taken another drink, she was sure she would have spewed it all over Justin. It was a good thing she’d merely sat glaring at him in disbelief. What on earth had given him the idea she was married and Shane was her son? How old did he think she was, anyway?
“She isn’t married,” Matilda said when Sage remained silent. “She doesn’t even have a boyfriend right now, do you, darling?” The old woman appeared to size up Justin before she leaned toward him. “Are you interested?”

Andi’s step-mother is a real piece of work! But is Ruby a murderer?

Andi Anna Jones, so-so travel agent/amateur sleuth, puts aside her resentment of her father’s widow and books a 60th birthday cruise to Cancun for Ruby and three friends. Never does Andi imagine the cruise will lead to the murder of a has-been lounge singer—or that Ruby will be the main suspect.

Flirting with more than danger after arriving in Mexico, Andi connects with the charming local sheriff, Manual Rodriquez. After an embarrassing night involving the sheriff, too many margaritas, and a Mariachi band, a chance to check out an eyewitness to the murder leads her to Las Vegas.

In Vegas, a mysterious meeting in the Bodies Exhibition, a body preserving in the prep-room, and an evasive owner of a dance studio, give Andi clues to help Ruby. But when Andi is mercilessly drugged and locked in a storage room, she realizes dear old step-mom isn’t the only one in jeopardy.

Read an excerpt:

I jumped when the phone rang in the middle of grinding beans for my second latte. For a moment, I considered letting the call go, but that damned nagging promise made to Dad about watching out for his second wife, forced me to answer.

“Miss? Are you there?”

Well, this isn’t Ruby. Nice baritone. “I’m here. Who’s this?”

“Manuel Gonzales of the Cancun Sheriff’s Department, Miss…?”

“Jones. But then I imagine you already know since you called me.”

“Miss Jones, I wanted to get you up to speed. I inspected the scene of last night’s, uh, apparent homicide. Regarding Ruby Jones, the suspect, she is currently being…”

A commotion in the background caught my attention. “Wait. Who’s screaming? Is that Ruby?”

The phone reception had improved because Ruby sounded like she was standing in my kitchen. For the first time since this nightmare began, I found myself smiling when I heard, “You can’t do this to me! I have rights as an American citizen! Remember the Al-a-moooo….”

An enjoyable escape read that sets things up for potential continuation.
From being rudely awakened to save her less than favorite step-mother from a long jail sentence in Cancun to being rudely awakened while following up on clues in Las Vegas, Andi Anna Jones discovers she is not cut out for the life of a sleuth. While she has skills, she finds herself in mortal danger.
On the positive side, Andi does seem to find romance and make connections easily.
Ruby enjoys life, no matter what it throws at her. For some of us, we may feel life might be sending her into some seedier situations. Which means that is where Andi must also travel.

The Heartfulness Way Blog Tour

THE HEARTFULNESS WAY by Kamlesh D. Patel and Joshua Pollock, Nonfiction/Spiritual/Meditation, 190 pp., $13.48 (paperback) $9.99 (Kindle)

Author: Kamlesh D. Patel & Joshua Pollock
Publisher: New Harbinger Publications
Pages: 190
Genre: Nonfiction/Spiritual/Meditation

“A must-read for anyone interested in incorporating meditation into their lifestyle.”
––Sanjay Gupta, MD, chief medical correspondent for CNN

Heartfulness is an ideal, a spiritual way of living by and from the heart that is inclusive of all ideologies, beliefs, and religions. In this heart-centered book, a student in conversation with his teacher, Kamlesh D. Patel—affectionately known as Daaji, the fourth and current spiritual guide of the century-old Heartfulness tradition—present a unique method of meditation with the power to facilitate an immediate, tangible spiritual experience, irrespective of a person’s faith.

Our modern, fast-paced world can be an overwhelming place. Every day, we’re bombarded with messages telling us that in order to be happy, fulfilled, and worthy, we must be better, do more, and accumulate as much material wealth as possible. Most of us move through our busy lives with our minds full of these ideas, multitasking as we strive to navigate the responsibilities and expectations we must meet just to make it through the day. But what if there is another way? What if, rather than letting the busyness of life overtake our minds, we learn to be heartful instead?

Based on Daaji’s own combination of approaches and practices for the modern seeker—which draws from the teachings of Sahaj Marg, meaning “Natural Path”—Heartfulness is a contemporized version of the ancient Indian practice of Raja Yoga, a tradition that enables the practitioner to realize the higher Self within. While many books describe refined states of being, The Heartfulness Way goes further, providing a pragmatic course to experience those states for oneself, which, per the book’s guiding principle, is “greater than knowledge.”

Heartfulness meditation consists of four elements—relaxation, meditation, cleaning, and prayer—and illuminates the ancient, defining feature of yogic transmission (or pranahuti), the utilization of divine energy for spiritual growth and transformation. Using the method, detailed practices, tips, and practical philosophy offered in this book, you’ll reach new levels of attainment and learn to live a life more deeply connected to the values of the Heartfulness way—with acceptance, humility, compassion, empathy, and love.

We never know what life has in store for us, what is just around the corner, and that is part and parcel of the mystery and beauty of living. I have received many blessings during my six decades on this Earth, and one of those happened while I was a teenager, studying pharmacy in Ahmedabad in India in 1976. Thanks to one of my college pals, I came across Heartfulness meditation, and a few months later was face-to-face with the remarkable man who immediately became my first guru, who guided me in this practice. His name was Ram Chandra, and we called him Babuji.

The effect of the very first Heartfulness meditation on me was so profound that it was clear I had found my direction and anchor in life. But the effect of meeting Babuji was beyond even that – something so precious and subtle in its essence that it defines description. While universes and dimensions have opened in my inner world since that time, it is only one aspect of what has unfolded during these last four decades. What is even more wonderful is the walth of everyday qualities that have come through Heartfulness practice – qualities such as love, acceptance, humility, service, compassion, empathy, and a higher purpose to existence.

This is not a long book. You may think you can read it in a day or two. Let me assure you - this is not a book you can read and absorb only by turning the pages one time through.
The writing has an easy flow and a personable style. There is playful banter that will make you smile. There are questions (and answers) that will make you sit back and think.
You can learn meditation theory between these covers.
You can learn about posture and breathing and the "best" times and ways to meditate and become more spiritual. The only thing you can not do while reading this book is arrive.
You may have a better idea why AFTER reading this book, several times.

This is one of the most complete books I have read on the topic of Heartfulness and meditation.
This is perhaps my favorite book I have read on these topics.
This is a book that will never be far from my regular place of meditation.

Thank you to Reveal Press and New Harbinger Publishing for allowing me to read and review this book and for the additional resources I discovered inside.

Kamlesh D. Patel
KAMLESH D. PATEL is known widely as Daaji. His teachings arise from his personal experience on the path of Heartfulness, while reflecting his deep spirit of enquiry and respect for the world’s great spiritual traditions and scientific advancements. Daaji practised pharmacy in New York City for over three decades before being named the successor in a century-old lineage of spiritual masters. Fulfilling the many duties of a modern-day guru, he travels widely, extending his support to spiritual seekers everywhere. A self-professed student of spirituality, he devotes much of his time and energy to research in the field of consciousness and spirituality, approaching the subject with scientific methodology – a practical approach that stems from his own experience and mastery in the field.

Joshua Pollock

Joshua Pollock is a student of Kamlesh D. Patel. After experimenting with various meditative practices, Joshua started practicing Heartfulness in the United States in 2002 and has taught it since 2007. He regularly teaches Heartfulness at universities, corporations, government institutions, and at public seminars. An accomplished violinist, Joshua has performed and taught all over the world. He holds a Bachelor of Musical Arts from Indiana University and two Masters degrees from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
