You might want to rethink your morning routine.
A cup a day won’t kill you, but a few might.

Their first case as private investigators have Sean, Sara, and Jimmy neck- deep in coffee beans trying to find a killer. With their client certain that her mother was poisoned through her coffee of the month club, it has them setting out to Williamsburg, Virginia. But instead of approaching matters from the traditional standpoint, Sean and Sara brew a robust plot and stir Jimmy into the blend, all to get close to their top suspect and grind out the truth.
Going undercover at Tasty Beans, the coffee company, the three of them work to expose the culprit before anyone else dies.

When former police officers come into a great deal of money, can they leave their former lives behind?
Sean and Sara McKinley and friends have a hard time with that. They are glad not to lay their lives on the line each day but they still want to protect and serve. To that end, they open up a private investigations firm, that not only hires a woman who has had a tough event in her life, but they open their building to other charitable causes for low rent office space. What they get paid for their services is shared between other deserving causes.
How can you NOT like people like this? Besides, they have a close friendship and seem very down to earth - well, except for their love of exotic cars.

The case they take on in New York is related to coffee manufactured in Virginia. They feel the best way to get to the bottom of a woman's death by poisoning is to go to the source - Tasty Beans coffee - and take jobs there to snoop around. They think they have a main suspect and spend time and resources focusing in on him. Could it be they are not seeing clues right beneath their noses?
A very quick read, with a little more bumbling investigation than the P.I.'s plan on.
This is a simpler, less complicated cozy type read.
I have to say I think the smartest move they made was hiring very intelligent and creative support staff.

I did receive a copy of this book in exchange for my review.
The opinions are honestly my own.
