At Last john W Mefford

New Release....
Alex Troutt Thriller, Book #6
AT Last

Thirty years after losing a parent to a hit-and-run drunk driver, FBI agent Alex Troutt finally confronts the killer--the same man who just murdered the Boston police chief.
And what Alex pulls from him shatters her core.

Armed with little more than hope and a shred of decades-old evidence, Alex chases a memory from her past, hoping that she'll find the mother she never really had. With her old buddy Archie on board --as much as ever can be -- the hunt takes her deep into the foothills of West Virginia. A fanatical religious cult has created its own society. Desperate to right a thirty-year wrong, Alex must out-think and out-duel everyone in her path to right a thirty-year wrong.

Will Alex’s quest to find the truth destroy her life all over again?

About the Author
A veteran of the corporate wars, former journalist, and true studier of human and social behavior, best-selling author John W. Mefford has been writing novels since he first entered the work force twenty-five years ago, although he never put words on paper until late 2009.

John writes novels full of intrigue, suspense, and thrills, but they also evoke an emotional connection with the characters.

When he’s not writing, he chases three kids around, slaves away in the yard, reads, takes in as many sports as time allows, watches all sorts of movies, and continues to make mental notes of people and societies across the land.

John lives in Frisco, Texas with his beautiful wife, three opinionated kids, and a feisty fat cat who rules the world.

In the first book of this series, FBI agent Alex Troutt was a loner. Not only did she choose to work alone, when we met her she had no memory and wasn't sure she wanted to remember.
She (and we) have come a long way since then. Her cheating husband was murdered, as was a good friend, and her father involved himself in some very shady circumstances. Still, Alex has grown enough that she does her best to accept those few people to whom she has allowed herself to grow close. It is still a struggle.
She is a better parent than ever before. She has become a decent partner, both at work and in a personal relationship. The personal side being extremely difficult for her. Besides her romantic situation, she has to accept help raising her kids.
Considering all of the difficulties and danger in her life on a continuously revolving basis, Alex Troutt's life could almost be called balanced. Except when it isn't.

A John W Mefford book will always be synonymous with the thriller genre.
He is a masterful storyteller, providing the gritty details you can not forget.
As strong as Alex's character is, I admire those people who manage to become essential to her.

The situations Alex finds herself in seem so far fetched, but as told by Mefford become believable.
As we dive into the details of this case, involving Alex's long lost and thought- dead mother, even the characters compare it to well known real life events from the news.
The traumas are such that we hope never to encounter in real life yet know they do exist.
Will everyone come back from this unofficial mission?

I don't want to add spoilers because you will be drawn in and want to experience each step.
You can read this as a stand alone but you will appreciate all the details more if you have read at least the previous book in this fast paced series.
