If I could give this more than 5 stars I definitely would. Fantasy and magic at its best. The world building is amazing and each character is developed to perfection.
I read this as a stand alone but am planning on enjoying each book in this series.
Aurora is running for her life while attempting to learn to control her magical abilities, find her mother, prevent the evil Queen Morgana from gaining control over all seven kindgoms, all while Aurora attempts to protect those who help her along the way, never not knowing who she can trust. The suspense, danger and excitement will take your breath away. I held my breath more times than I could count.
Aurora learns more of her peoples' history along the way and learns she is in search of the most powerful weapon, an unknown "Dawnstar" created from the old magic. No one can tell her where or even what it is.
