As autumn air settles into the quaint small town of Silver Hollow, there’s nothing more popular than Sasha’s teddy bears—and murder in cold blood . . .Silver Bear Shop and Factory manager Sasha Silverman is cozying up to the fall season by hosting Silver Hollow’s Cranbeary Tea Party, the opening event of the village’s Oktobear Fest—a too-cute celebration themed around teddy bears. She barely has a moment to agonize over the return of her former high school rival, Holly Parker, whose new toy and bookstore in town could spell big trouble for the Silver Bear Shop and her cousin’s small bookstore . . .But when Sasha discovers Holly’s shop assistant dead with a knife plunged in her body, the unpleasant woman suddenly looks like a real backstabber. So does Sasha’s ex-husband, rumored to have rekindled the fiery extramarital affair he once had with the victim. Now, before a gruesome homicide case takes the fun out of both the Fest and her personal life, Sasha must identify the true culprit from a daunting suspect list—or risk becoming as lifeless as one of her stuffed bears . . .
I read and enjoyed the first book in this series and do recommend you read it as well. I think you may get more from this book if you have read Bearly Departed but Bear Witness can be read as a stand alone.
Autumn has arrived along with more bear themed celebrations. Being a midwestern girl myself I love the Michigan setting. I am also a huge fan of themed festivals and those in cozy mysteries give us the very best and more. I can't wait to add a few suggestions to my own decorations this year.
So, I love the setting and the themes and the characters! Sasha and her family have their quirks and arguments but also have each others' backs. Something is up with her mother this time! I understand she wants to see her girls settled and happy, and perhaps providing some grandchildren, but to wish Sasha back with a conniving, low-life, cheating ex! Mother, please!
Lots of dating drama and a healthy dose of friendly competition while decorating oversize art bears for the village. Less friendly competition between shop keepers.
I was riveted and worried and really did not see THIS ending happening.

I am looking forward to see where the series goes and new things coming to Silver Hollow and the Silverman family.
