This book is intended for young children who want to write down the stories they create themselves. I like the simple and playful style in which it is written. This not not the sort of book one should go through in a week or even a month.
There are easy to understand explanations about crafting a story and the required elements.
Remember there must be a beginning, middle and end.
Using a questioning perspective, the author explains how characters are designed and named. She tells why it is important for the author to know more about each character than may go in to the story. What has shaped the way the character sees the world or responds to a situation?
Using games and a team experience of building a character, later a plot, etc. she takes away some of the anxiety in over thinking writing a story. Make it fun and soon it will be done!

This book may sound too simple for advanced readers and writers, but there is value here also for additional age groups.

Author Bio –
Lexi Rees writes action packed adventures for children. As well as the Creative Writing Skills workbook, the first book in The Relic Hunters Series, Eternal Seas, was awarded a “loved by” badge from LoveReading4Kids and is currently longlisted for a Chanticleer award. When not writing, she’s usually covered in straw or glitter, and frequently both.
