Hey, y’all! I’m Franki Amato, coming at you from New Orleans, Louisiana. I don’t usually have time to do blog appearances because investigating crime in The Big Easy is actually hard. It’s not just that the French Quarter is a party district, either. The problem is that there’s voodoo here. And witchcraft. And people who live as vampires.

But you don’t need me to tell you about me or New Orleans because an author named Traci Andrighetti keeps writing books about the cases I’ve investigated for my best friend Veronica Maggio’s PI firm, Private Chicks. It all started with my first case investigating the murder of a boutique manager, which she titled Limoncello Yellow, and it hasn’t stopped. She followed me to a plantation in Prosecco Pink, a strip club in Amaretto Amber, and a vampire tour in Campari Crimson. It’s like the woman is obsessed with me, or something. I really ought to have her charged with stalking.

Take my most recent case, for example. I investigated the homicide of a family friend’s nephew during Mardi Gras, and Traci has already written a mystery about it called Galliano Gold. The weird thing is that the case involved me going undercover to work in the galley of a haunted steamboat on the Mississippi River, and I never saw Traci among the guests. Of course I was busy dealing with my nemesis Detective Wesley Sullivan and hunting for a killer. But still. It’s almost like she was one of the ghosts.

Hang on a second. My phone is vibrating, and I don’t recognize the number so it could be a new case. Hello?

Franki, is-a that-a you?

Hi, Nonna. I’m in the middle of something. Can I call you back?

No, you can-a come-a down to the church-a.

Wait. You’re in New Orleans?

Where the hell-a else-a would I be? Until you walk-a down the altar, I’ve got-a work to do. And-a so do you. We’ve-a got to find-a you a husband, and-a pronto.
