Book Excerpt:
Grasshopper Eye
lived in a village deep in the forest. He made small vials that villagers could
put their sad tears in.
He felt that
letting sad tears fall down your face or wiping them away was a huge waste of
something that took so much pain to make.

While very brief, this book has an important subject matter. It is about expressing emotion and not making others feel left out.
Grasshopper Eye has a wonderful talent. He makes vials to catch tears. He makes each one special for every resident of the village. Find out what happens when the vials go missing.
Discover how the residents respond when the vials are found.
I can see this book leading to discussion both on individuality and inclusion.
