The author kindly provided me with two books in her series about cancer.
Mr. C the Globetrotter is geared towards children but is meaningful to all ages.
Everyone I know has been touched in some way by cancer. They have a family member, a friend, and several have themselves experienced or are presently fighting this life altering disease.

Cancer does not only affect the ill person. It does not pick and choose victims based on any specific factors.
This book has an uplifting tone to explain to children that they are not alone. It shares how other children have found ways to cope and other resources to turn to for help.
You may notice that all of the children's names start with the letter M.
I enjoyed learning the meanings of each name.

The second book, MC Plays Hide and Seek, is also geared towards children but  can be appreciated by all ages.

Cancer touches the lives not only of those who become ill but also their family members and friends.

Doctors of different specialties look for signs of cancer in different ways.

Doctors are not the only ones looking for a cure for cancer.

This book has a positive outlook, that although cancer is terrible, people can still take steps to stay healthy.
People can find ways to help search for a cure.
People can still enjoy time and activities while dealing with cancer.

Meet the Author:

Eva Grayzel is a motivational speaker, storyteller, and cancer survivor. When her children were five and seven years old, she was diagnosed with cancer. Their fear of losing her was deep, real, and suppressed. When she got a second chance at life, she created the Talk4Hope book series to help children understand cancer and make it less scary.

  1. Laura, I had such a hard time defining the age range. Thank you for recognizing that M.C. Plays Hide & Seek can be appreciated by a much wider range, children of all ages, and even the adults who lie them! As you say, everyone knows someone with cancer. Promoting dialogue is key to minimizing fear. Thank you for your thoughtful review.
