Get ready, because the suspects are mounting up and heading down the stretch. Whoa! Fiona and Detective Landry aren’t horsing around with this homicide!
Listening to this book far exceeded my audiobook expectations!
The narration was fantastic, with great expressionism and very distinct character differentiation.
Oh and the ENERGY!
Combine any sort of sports and criminal activity and you have enough greed, competitive spirit and EGO to populate a village of Cuckoo's nests. Add in family drama and a wanna-be neighborhood psychic, and you can taste the flavor of this book.
Fiona and her detective boyfriend can never catch a break, or a quiet meal together.
They do team up well to catch criminals, but oh the danger and excitement they traipse through as they do it. This case is several connected, but can they convince the other department that has jurisdiction? How much more does the Sheriff know than he is sharing, and is he involved?
Murder, Money, Horse Thievery all combine to make for an exciting adventure.
As if that isn't enough for one book, Fiona's neighbor (or more precisely purchased her crystal ball) predict trouble crossing Fiona's doorstep. Not long after, secrets cause trouble in Fiona's parents marriage which does indeed bring family to the door.
It takes a very skilled author to keep it all straight and communicate it in such an entertaining way.
