When Angel Scarlett, Fairy Cora, and Princess Daphne visit Lily the Ladybug’s Boutique to look for Halloween costumes, they find Lily has left aside three special masks for them. The ladybug informs the sisters that they must wait until noon on Halloween to try on the mysterious masks but assures them they will have the best costumes in all of the land of Harmony.

The sisters can hardly wait, counting down the minutes on Halloween until they can don their curious masks. When the time comes, they learn their secret masks are enchanted, and the girls are magically transformed into the costumes of their dreams.

​After a fun outing Trick-or-Treating, the little monster, witch, and ghost — or sisters — agree that this was the best Halloween of all.

The Bumps in the Road of My Writing Journey

“I just want to write my books,” says every author … ever! Just like any profession, there isn’t just one task needed to be accomplished to be successful. I often hear these words of wisdom that a senior fitness client said to me years ago, “Your business will only as successful as the

time you put into it.” Writing is a business. It takes a lot of work. So, yes, you can just write your books, but wouldn’t it be nice if someone read them. This takes time, effort, money and most importantly, drive.

I have owned a wellness & fitness company for 15 years. I am quite aware of what needs to go into running a business. However, being an author, there are still expensive lessons that I am learning and thick skin that needs to develop. I have spent money in areas with the hope of yielding book sales and that was just not the case. Like every author, I too have received a negative review. Thankfully, nothing too terrible, but it still stings. Not everyone can like everything, and we always need to remember that. One of the most difficult lessons learned is to remove the emotion in business. But, how do you remove the emotion when your book is your baby. You have to. You just have to. And once you remove the emotion, you will be able to think clearly on your next important task toward success.

Sometimes, I wonder if my biggest bump of my writing journey was 24 years ago. I chose to not pursue my writing career once I graduated from college with a degree in English because a career placement counselor, who never read any of my work, discouraged me from pursuing a “pipe dream.” I have to believe that discouragement was part of my journey to get me where I am today. As God is my witness, I will never let anyone discourage me again. Well, I’m sure as heck going to try.

Bumps in the road is a normal part of any journey. When we can recognize those bumps and learn from them, our path will become a little smoother and perhaps lead to a great destination.

What do a witch, a ghost and a monster have in common with a fairy, a princess and an angel?
HALLOWEEN fun of course.

It is a magical time of year and who better to spend it with than family and best friends.
Scary or spooky fun when people you know can't tell it is you!
The rhythm of the words is fun and pleasing to the ear.

The illustrations are bold and colorful and will lead to great conversations with your children.
A couple of my favorite images include the hot, steaming tea being poured and the gorgeous Berner dog covering his eyes. I also love the fairy dust and how you can see and feel the movement.
Beautifully done.

Meet the Author:

Karen M. Bobos began writing poetry and stories at the early age of ten. She is a life-long Chicagoan who now raises her family in the downtown area. During the 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic, Chicago also became a city of unrest. Trying to keep her three young daughters in a world of magic during such scary times, the Bobos Babes Adventures were born. Her goal was to create a world of Harmony for her family and hopefully for others to escape, even if only for a moment.

The first book of the series, The Case of the Giggles, was published in December 2020. The Missing Egg launched in March 2021. The Lion's Secret was published in June 2021, a tribute to her mother and late father's incredible love story.  The Lovey That Came to Life and The Bobcat Birthday Party will be releasing in the upcoming months.​
